The Cozy Dog Drive In is a landmark in Springfield because it was here that the batter-covered hot dog was perfected by Ed Waldmire, who decided to call them Cozy Dogs. The restaurant is one of the stops along the historic Route 66 trail. It also sells hamburgers, fries and soups. Tours of the building are available.
